A group of teenage friends, Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy and their Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, travel in a bright green van solving strange and hilarious mysteries where ever they go. Many of the group's adventures involved villains or criminals who took on supernatural disguises such as ghosts and monsters to undertake criminal activities whilst scaring everyone away. It is up to the team to catch these monsters and unmask them for who they really are. This is simply one of if not the best children's TV shows ever made and is the one that started a whole franchise of wacky adventures of the mystery-solving group. It is a show that is still enjoyed by people of all ages across all generations, years after its release. Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! is the original show that introduced us to the world of Scooby-Doo, which was so beloved and popular it went on to produce many follow-up shows and spin-offs, live-action movies, animated movies, video games and so much more. Releasing back in the late sixties/early seventies this show brought so many characters, monsters and phrases that would become such a huge part of pop culture history that is constantly referenced to this day. The show even got a third season between 76-78 that followed the same premise and style that were added under the same name and title of this series and continued on their work. This show has left such a huge impact on so many people including myself as I grew up on this show and fell in love with its humour and slapstick as well as the strange mysteries that the gang try to uncover in a whole manner of peculiar locations. From abandoned theme parks, haunted houses, the bottom of the sea, and museums, the gang travel far and wide and always manages to come across some bizarre occurrences that draw them in. My favourite characters have to be the iconic duo Shaggy and Scooby. They have the funniest scenes in every episode, for example, every time they are chased by one of the monsters or bump into one they will use some silly and humorous antic to escape them. From dressing up in bizarre clothing or disguises to entice the monster into strange situations: like dancing or partaking in games so that the two can easily escape is always a delight and always gets the most laughs. On the other hand, Fred, Velma and Daphne are a lot less goofy and act more maturely than Shaggy and Scooby. Each member has their own characteristics and traits, but at the end of the day, they all help out and solve the mystery together no matter what. Each of them is an important asset to the group and they are all great friends who share loads of banter and a sense of care for one another. I also love the designs of some of the monsters and ghosts. There are some unique characters that they created for this show like the Ghost of Captain Cutler or Spooky Space Kook. Each one looks very cool and detailed with some terrific laughs and screams that have become just as iconic as their appearance. The show also uses some simple and basic monsters, like vampires and mummies, which have pretty basic designs, which still look superb. I thoroughly enjoy the animation style of Scooby-Doo too as I find the hand-drawn style to be quite fascinating. Just seeing the storyboards and the process of drawing every single detail to make up the whole episode is just something I find very intriguing. All that time spent making these episodes flow as fluently as they do is such a skill and beautiful piece of artistry. Overall, Scooby-Doo has become such an important character and franchise in pop culture history and has rightfully earned it! It is, to this day, one of the best-animated kid's shows ever made, which can even be enjoyed by everyone of all ages. This original show deserves all of its praise and recognition for being such a masterpiece in entertainment.
